The Carpentries

The Carpentries teaches foundational coding and data science skills to researchers worldwide. A global community of Instructors, helpers, trainers, lesson maintainers and more are involved in delivering Software Carpentry, Data Carpentry and Library Carpentry workshops.

The Carpentries at St Andrews

We’ve been running regular Software Carpentry workshops at the University of St Andrews for PGR students and research staff since 2017. These have been organised with OSDS, and we now have a group of certified Carpentries Instructors at the University who deliver them. We’ve also delivered workshops for other groups of learners associated with the University. You can see what we’ve been up to via the University’s Research Portal.
